Longport will celebrate its Quasquicentennial in 2023.
LONGPORT The Board of Commissioners is inviting residents to celebrate Longport's 125th anniversary of incorporation throughout the year and during two special events planned for March and July.
The first of several Quasquicentennial Celebration events will be held 12 p.m., Tuesday, March 7 in Commission Chambers at Longport Borough Hall, 2305 Atlantic Ave.
The ticketed event will include light refreshments, a celebratory cake and tours of the Longport Historical Society Museum. Local dignitaries, residents and friends will be invited to join in the day's festivities. The event will be held indoors due to March's unpredictable weather. Space is limited and reservations are required.
Those interested in attending the March 7 event must register by calling 609-823-2731 ext. 100 no later than Feb. 13.
The general public can also look forward to a town party on July 22, which will include food, fun and music. More information about the summertime celebration, including ticket sales, will be announced later.
