Workshops available for arts and history grant applications

  • Atlantic County

MAYS LANDING - Applications for 2024 state arts and history grants will soon be available through the Atlantic County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, which re-granted more than $221,000 to 26 successful local non-profit applicants in 2023 for projects that promote art or history and provide public benefit and accessibility.

To help organizations develop and enhance their funding proposals, two free grant workshops will be offered each focusing on a specific component of a grant proposal.

On Aug.16, The Narrative: Writing a Winning Proposal Workshop will focus on creating a direct and persuasive dialogue; and on Aug. 23, The Budget: Diversify Resources and Spend Wisely Workshop will focus on developing a well, thought out balanced budget. The workshops are mandatory for new organizations to this program or for those returning after a hiatus.

Both workshops will be held at 6 p.m. at the Atlantic County Library, 40 Farragut Ave., Mays Landing. Registration is required for each and is available at www.atlantic-county.org/cultural-affairs where the grant applications will also be made available during the week of July 31.

Grant funding is provided through New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the New Jersey Historical Commission. Deadline for submission of all grant applications is Oct. 13.
