The Margate City Fire Department will host its annual Open House event at the Margate Public Library, 8100 Atlantic Ave., 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 28. The event is free and open to the public.
The open house offers a great opportunity for youngsters to learn the basics of fire safety, such as stop, drop and roll, and how to crawl beneath the smoke in the event of a fire.
Children will learn through interactive drills and demonstrations, climb aboard fire apparatus, try their hand at shooting off the water cannon, obtain free giveaways and more.
Members of the Fire Department will also provide food and drinks for the family.
