Baby goats visit seniors at Seashore Gardens

  • Atlantic County

Baby goats offer a special moment of connection for residents of Seashore Gardens Living Center.

Residents at Seashore Gardens Living Center enjoyed a special visit from two baby goats, courtesy of Serenity Hospice. The seniors had a chance to pet and hold the goats, which brought lots of smiles.

Animal visits are a regular occurrence at the living center as part of the pet therapy program. Research has shown that visits from pets are more than just fun.

They can decrease levels of stress hormones, regulate breathing and lower blood pressure. These visits also release oxytocin, a hormone associated with bonding and affection with animals and people.
