LONGPORT The borough's Public Library will be hosting several fun and educational programs during the month of March.
At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, participants can learn how to make shepherd's pie at the library's next cooking class. The next Hop in the Kitchen class will be presented by Stir It Up Catering of Northfield. The event will be held in Guild Hall at the Church of the Redeemer, 20th and Atlantic Avenue. Longport Public Library
The library will be hosting a virtual author visit 2 p.m. Monday, March 20. Log on to hear Alka Joshi talk about her newest novel from The Jaipur Trilogy. Participants can watch online at home or on the big screen in Commission Chamber at Borough Hall, 2305 Atlantic Ave. Make a reservation by calling 609-487-7403.
The library and Longport Historical Museum will host its next seasonal gathering at Church of the Redeemer Guild Hall, 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 21. Food will be provided by Essl's Dugout and a harpist will provide the entertainment. Chat with friends about upcoming library programs. The Library has also set dates for some intriguing summer programs. Author Lisa Scottline will present the Summer Author Series, 6:30 p.m. July 17, and an end of season beach concert will be held 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19. More information will be shared later.
