EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP - Seashore Gardens Foundation will hold its 7th annual golf tournament Wednesday, June 21, at Harbor Pines Golf Club, 500 St. Andrews Dr. Golfers and nongolfers are invited to participate in the event to benefit the nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching elder lives.

The tournament is an annual tradition for supporters and families, past and present, who have championed the mission of Seashore Gardens, said Rich Cohen, president of the Seashore Gardens Foundation and co-chair of the golf tournament along with Jason Goldstein and David Lieberman. Proceeds from the tournament will be used in our community for programming to help the elderly improve their quality of life.

The date of the tournament, June 21, is the longest day of the year, and was chosen to honor those families with loved ones battling Alzheimer's and dementia.

This day recognizes the devastating disease known as the long goodbye, said Cohen. On this longest day, we celebrate our successes and look forward to bringing light and hope to the future.

Registration and lunch begin at noon. Tee time for golfers is 1:30 p.m.  Cocktails will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the awards dinner. Prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin and longest drive. There also will be a silent auction.
