Calvin Donahue is headed to West Point in June.
MARGATE - Calvin Donahue, a 2022 summa cum Laude graduate of Mainland Regional High School, was awarded an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Donahue spent the last year at California Polytechnic State University on an Army ROTC Scholarship.
While at Mainland he served as captain of the Varsity Crew Team and president of the Support Our Troops Club. He also achieved the rank of chief petty officer in the Atlantic City Division of the United States Naval Sea Cadets.
Donahue will report to West Point in June following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Margate resident Nick Kurilko, a 1968 West Point graduate.
