MAYS LANDING To promote unity and collaboration between law enforcement and the faith-based community, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office hosted an interfaith luncheon Wednesday at Atlantic Cape Community College's Mays Landing campus.

The event brought together members of various religious communities, chaplains and enforcement officials to foster a greater understanding and appreciation between law enforcement and the faith-based community, Atlantic County Prosecutor William Reynolds said in a release.

Atlantic Cape President Barbara Gaba provided opening remarks and welcomed everyone to the Academy of Culinary Arts student run restaurant, Careme's. Law enforcement representatives spoke about the importance of building strong relationships with the community and the role of faith leaders in promoting peace and unity. Pastor and State Police Chaplain Lou Strugala provided brief remarks and opened and closed the program with prayers to unify and uplift those in attendance.

The luncheon provided an opportunity for attendees to share their thoughts and experiences and discuss ways they can work together to address issues affecting their communities.

Attendees praised the initiative to unite different communities and create a platform for dialogue and collaboration.

Reynolds said the Prosecutor's Office plans to continue hosting similar events in the future to develop a holistic approach to solving challenges facing Atlantic County and its residents

Any faith leaders who would like to be involved in future community outreach efforts are asked to contact [email protected].
