Atlantic City Cinefest, also known as the Downbeach Film Festival, will be held at two Downbeach locations Friday through Sunday, Oct. 13-15.
Cinefest, which was founded in 2008 as the Downbeach Film Festival by journalist William Sokolic of Brigantine, offers novice and aspiring filmmakers, actors and those interested in a career in filmmaking the opportunity to network with industry professionals and learn about filmmaking in a relaxed atmosphers.
Screenings of the selected films will be held at the Fanny Lou Hamer Event Center at the Stockton University Atlantic City campus, 3711 Atlantic Ave. in Atlantic City, and Ventnor Square Theater, 5211 Ventnor Ave. in Ventnor City.
A pre-festival party for filmmakers, cast, crews and festival pass holders will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13 at Nucky's Kitchen and Speakeasy in the Ventnor Square Theater building.
A filmmakers' panel will be held 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Stockton. Awards will be presented at 5 p.m. Sunday at Stockton.
Films include those made in New Jersey and across North America. Trophies will be awarded to winners in several categories.
Tickets are $35 for all festival screenings, $15 for daily passes and $6 for a block of 12 films.
