U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Van Drew today said he stands with Israel and its people and recommended American citizens who have family and loved ones in Israel be aware of services offered by the U.S. State Department.
"This latest escalation of hate is absolutely abhorrent and must be condemned universally in the strongest possible terms," Van Drew said in a statement.
Van Drew said the leader of Hamas has called for global jihad against Jewish communities on Friday, Oct. 13.
"This call for violence endangers the lives of countless people worldwide at a time when the Jewish community is already faced with constant threats of terror, he said.
Van Drew further said Congress must come out as a united force against Hamas and support Israel's right to self-defense in securing peace and security for its people.
Please stay vigilant and report suspicious activity to the authorities."
