Lisa Peterson's adaptation of The Odyssey brings new life to this ancient epic.
GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP - After a long hiatus, the Dinner & Show Series at Stockton University's Performing Arts Center is back with a modern and feminist retelling of a classic story. Lisa Peterson's adaption of The Odyssey by the Acting Company is set to be on the mainstage 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10.
Following a buffet-style meal in the Stockton Art Gallery, patrons will watch four young women trapped in the limbo of a refugee camp retell Odysseus' adventures as they struggle with their own search for a home. The production is based on a 2017 translation by University of Pennsylvania professor Emily Wilson, who became the first woman to publish a translation of Homer's most famous work into English.
