Downbeach beach patrols have announced certain beaches will be protected this weekend, but all three communities advised bathers to swim only where lifeguards are present.
Although this weekend promises to be stormy at times and rip currents high due to Hurricane Lee currently churning in the Atlantic as a Category 5 storm, certain beaches will be guarded weather permitting and based on lifeguard availability.
Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 9-10
Suffolk, New Haven, Lafayette and Dorset avenues
Margate
Clermont, Huntington and Washington avenues
Longport
33rd, 30th, 26th and 16th avenues
