MARGATE Jewish Family Service of Atlantic and Cape May Counties has appointed Bailey Pokres to the position of Retired Senior Volunteer Program Coordinator.

Pokres is responsible for working cohesively with more than 130 RSVP volunteers who each spend upward of three hours per week with the Shop at Home grocery orders and delivery, Friendly Check-In, and Kosher Meals on Wheels programs. The volunteers also assist with the High Holiday and Thanksgiving food collections. Knowing volunteers are the cornerstone of the agency, Pokres will work to recruit at least 25 new volunteers annually.

Bailey is truly an asset to the Volunteer Services Department. She understands, and takes great joy in, her work knowing that she's helping people right in the community, Volunteer Services Supervisorn Vanessa Smith said. It's that same enthusiasm and passion she displays when recruiting for the RSVP program.

Most recently, Pokres worked as the JFS Food Pantry associate. Before joining JFS, she worked at Creative Vibes LLC, where she built business credit, assisted with repairing individual's personal credit, and community outreach to help people expunge records. She also spent six years working with nonprofits, trust foundations, and independent business owners.

Pokres is a graduate of Thomas Edison University, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology. In addition, She received an associates in science degree in paralegal studies from Atlantic Cape Community College, and has a Dialysis Technician Certificate.

The RSVP program is funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service, the nation's largest grant maker for service and volunteerism. The program engages nearly five million Americans each year. JFS has been awarded the grant for more than eight years.
