Learn about EVs at this year's Drive Electric event.

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP - The Atlantic County Utilities Authority invites electric vehicle owners, supporters, and the EV-curious to participate in its annual Drive Electric Celebration, which is offered over two days this week. ACUA's events are free to attend and open to the public.

Transportation is the number one contributor to greenhouse gas pollution in New Jersey. These events are designed to bring attention to the environmental benefits of driving EVs and to address the questions and concerns arising in this rapidly changing landscape.

On Tuesday, Sept. 26, starting at 12 p.m., industry experts will offer virtual presentations on Zoom highlighting new technology that is rapidly changing the future of transportation. They will review the latest developments and incentives for NJ drivers. Participants are welcome and encouraged to ask questions in advance through ACUA's website or during the presentation.

Presenters include:

    • Kyriakos Anastasopoulos, Atlantic City Electric, Exelon

    • Kassandra Damblu, ChargEVC

    • Andrea Friedman, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP)

    • Cathleen Lewis, New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU)

On Wednesday, Sept. 27, from 4-6 p.m., at ACUA's Environmental Park, 6700 Delilah Road, ACUA will host an in-person vehicle showcase highlighting different models and types of electric vehicles, like cars, trucks, fleet vehicles, bicycles, and more!  Residents of South Jersey and the surrounding area that drive electric, including plug-in hybrids and electric bicycles, are invited to participate by bringing their vehicle to the event. This event offers the curious and the skeptical a chance to speak directly with people who drive and own EVs. This free event gives participants the option to see a wide variety of EVs at one location.

Advanced registration is required to receive the Zoom link for the webinar on Tuesday, Sept. 26. Registration is requested for those who wish to bring an electric car, truck, bicycle, or other vehicle for the in-person electric vehicle showcase on Wednesday, Sept. 27, to ensure space is allotted for everyone.
