LONGPORT – A pedestrian was injured in a motor vehicle crash Wednesday, Aug. 14 at the intersection of Atlantic and 27th avenues, police said in a statement.
According to Public Information Officer Sgt. Ray Burgan, the accident occurred at 1:45 p.m.
The initial investigation revealed that a 2016 Chevy Cruz being driven by Marcia Chotiner, 91, of Margate, struck pedestrian Tara Mikus, 53, of Linwood, as she attempted to turn onto Atlantic Avenue heading east.
Mikus was treated for injuries at the scene and transported to ACMC for further medical care.
Chotiner remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
Drivers are reminded to exercise caution in high pedestrian traffic areas and crosswalks to ensure the safety of all individuals on the road.
