LONGPORT - The Doc Turner Memorial Swim will be held 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25 at 33rd Avenue and will honor a longtime Beach Patrol supporter who passed away in September last year.

The Longport Beach Patrol lost an all time friend and supporter in Doug “Doc” Farrell, who loved his daily beach swims, and supporting member of the Beach Patrol. To "show him a little love"  along with Capt. Turner, the Beach Patrol will be holding the event in Farrell's honor.

The swim will be approximately a half-mile with the current. Please follow the information in the post for how to sign up and donate. No sign up fee but donations can be made out to the Longport Lifeguard Association.

To become a participant, call 609 822 3898 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is no fee to participate, but donations benefiting the Longport Beach Patrol will be accepted. Make checks payable to the Longport Lifeguard Association.

Check in will take place at 3:30 p.m. at  Beach Patrol HQ at 33rd and Atlantic avenues.
