SOMERS POINT – The journey of breastfeeding begins long before the baby arrives, and understanding the basics and having the right support in place can make all the difference for both mother and child.
To help expectant mothers prepare, Shore Medical Center is offering a free monthly Prenatal Lactation Class designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed for a successful breastfeeding experience.
Held at 5:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month in the lobby area at Shore Medical Center. The class is led by Shore Medical Center’s expert lactation consultants, Beth Toner, RN, IBCLC and Amy Vanaman, RN, IBCLC. The class provides valuable insights into the benefits of breastfeeding, teaches proper latching techniques, and offers solutions to common breastfeeding challenges. This resource is invaluable for soon-to-be mothers, helping them gain confidence and ensuring they are fully prepared when their baby arrives.
The first session is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 11.
Due to limited space, registration is required at 609-653-3500, ext. 3688.
