MARGATE – Amid holiday festivities and thousands of colorful stringed lights at Memories Tuesday evening, the Margate Business Association held its annual election of officers, recognized volunteers and city workers and presented its businessperson of the year award.
Chrissy Tracy, a mainstay at MBA events, was awarded the annual Joe Tozzi Award of Distinction.
Berger said Tracy is well-deserving of the award because she always shows up and speaks up to make the MBA’s community events better each year.
“There are those people who show up time after time, whether it’s getting kids trained for one of our events or going to the farmers market to sell ducks…Chrissy always asks, ‘What else can I do,’” he said.
Berger thanked the City of Margate and its department heads and public safety teams who ensure the safety of residents and visitors during well-attended events held throughout the year, including the annual Wine Tasting, Fall Funfest by the Bay and Rubber Ducky Regatta, among others.
“We can’t do what we do without what you do,” President Ed Berger said about the volunteers who work to allow MBA events go off without a hitch.
A new Board of Directors was seated with a unanimous voice vote from the crowd.
Members include Berger of Mediagate as president; Karen Sherman of Tomatoe’s, vice-president; Nancy Lynch Ocean First Bank, treasurer; Randy Young of Heritage Surf and Sport, secretary; and board members Chrissy Tracy of Heist Insurance, Paula Hartman of Hartman Home Team Berkshire Hathaway Fox & Roach Realtors, Tim Wainwright of Dino’s Subs and Pizza, Cookie Till of Steve & Cookies By The Bay, Dr. Joseph Berretone of Downbeach Dental, Maria DePhillipo of Nix Salon and Spa, Rev.
