Guardian and Swift announce re-election campaign

  • Government

Assemblyman Don Guardian of Atlantic City and Assemblywoman Claire Swift of Margate today announced their re-election campaign to represent the 2nd Legislative District. They are seeking their third two-year term of office.

“It has been the honor of a lifetime to represent the people of Atlantic County in Trenton,” Guardian said in a release. “Claire and I have been laser focused on our two priorities: affordability and getting Atlantic County what we deserve from Trenton. We want to continue fighting for you and are once again humbly asking for your support.”

“From property tax relief in the ANCHOR program to our award-winning constituent services, Don and I are proud of the accomplishments we’ve made for the hardworking, middle-class families of Atlantic County,” Swift said. “Our bipartisan record in Trenton has delivered results for South Jersey taxpayers with over $260 million from the state directed to projects right here in Atlantic County.

Swift said the legislative team is looking forward to working with Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli upon his election.

Guardian and Swift overcame the odds in 2021 and flipped both Assembly seats for the first time in a decade. In 2023, Guardian and Swift doubled their margin of victory by earning the support of more than 25,000 Atlantic County voters.

Guardian serves on the Labor, and Tourism, Gaming and Arts committees. Swift serves on the Labor and State and Local Government committees. The 2nd Legislative District encompasses Absecon, Atlantic City, Brigantine, Egg Harbor Township, Galloway, Hamilton Township, Linwood, Longport, Margate City, Northfield, Pleasantville, Port Republic, Somers Point and Ventnor City.

Guardian and Swift enter the 2025 election with more than $150,000 cash-on-hand. They raised $50,000 for their campaign at their kickoff rally held last night.
