Ventnor plans pre-, post-plunge Winter Festival, Jan 1

The Ventnor Business Association, in cooperation with Ventnor City Special Events, is planning a Family Winter Festival before and after the Polar Plunge being held on New Year’s Day.

The Polar Plunge will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 1, 2025 at the Newport Avenue beach.

Before and after a quick dip in the frigid Atlantic Ocean, revelers will gather a block away at St. James Memorial Hall between noon and 5 p.m.

Food trucks and indoor food vendors will offer good eats and refreshments. Participating businesses include Di’s Dogs and Burgers, Las Olas Taqueria, Florida Cold Cuts, PJ Buckets and Nucky’s Speakeasy.

Children will enjoy inflatable rides and games, while DJ Scot Rainear will spin some holiday and popular hits.

A highlight of the event will include a Chili Cookoff between the Ventnor City Police Department and the Ventnor City Fire Department.

Proceeds of the event will benefit police and fire benevolent associations.
