Atlantic County employees mark the season of giving

Atlantic County employees are helping to make spirits bright during the holiday season for local children and families as well as through contributions to local, national and global charities.

“I continue to be impressed with the generosity of Atlantic County employees. No matter what the season or the reason, our employees step up for those less fortunate, and the holiday season is no exception,” Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson said in a release.

Atlantic County’s workforce consists of approximately 1,600 employees who provide essential programs and services for county residents of all ages, from transportation, public health, food stamps, public safety, roads and bridges, library services, senior and veterans services and more.

These employees recently pledged more than $17,220 for non-profit charities during the annual New Jersey Employees Charitable Campaign, one of only a handful of participating agencies around the state to exceed their annual giving goal.

Additionally, they donated new holiday gifts for 100 local children through the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Gift Program. They also adopted 12 local families for the holidays who participate in any of the three Family Success Centers with locations in Egg Harbor Township, Galloway and Hammonton.

“They see first-hand those in need and go beyond their jobs to offer assistance,” Levinson saidta. “It is truly inspiring.”
