ACUA offers Master Composter classes starting Feb. 22

  • Atlantic County

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP - The Atlantic County Utilities Authority, Rutgers Cooperative Extension and NJ Composting Council will be offering the 2024 Master Composter Training Program starting Feb. 22. Registration is due by Feb. 9.

Composting is a great way to turn kitchen scraps and yard waste into a nutrient rich, soil-building boost for your garden. Participants will get an in-depth look at how to compost properly, learn how it works, what you'll need to do it, and how to get the most out of your composting efforts. No prior experience is needed.

The class will be held in a combination of virtual and in-person lectures, hands-on demonstrations, field trips, and opportunities to connect with the community.  Participants have the opportunity to earn 20 compost-related service hours to become a Certified Atlantic County Master Composter.

The cost to participate is $60 and participants must be registered before Friday, Feb. 9.  Space is limited, please reserve your spot early.  First registration priority is provided to Atlantic County residents.
