LONGPORT The Board of Commissioners honored former Prosecutor Carl Tripician with a proclamation Wednesday, Feb. 21 for his many years of service on behalf of Longport residents.

Mayor Nicholas Russo described Tripician using words such as integrity, honesty and reasonableness.

Not only is he a person who follows the rule of law, but he also follows the spirit of the law, Russo said.

Tripician has been the borough's prosecutor for 25 years and recently retired to take a judgeship in Absecon.

In addition to his work on behalf of the borough, Tripician has served the children and taxpayers of the community as president of the Board of Education, a position he has held since 2009. He is also a board member of the Herb Stern Longport Scholarship Fund, which has awarded more than $200,000 in college scholarships to Longport students over the last 14 years, and is a trustee of the Longport Public Library Board.

He earned a BA from San Diego State University in 1985, JD from Widener University School of Law in 1989 and became a member of the NJ Bar Association in 1989.

The proclamation thanked him for his many years of service and acknowledged Feb. 21, 2024 as Carl N. Tripician Esq. Day in Longport.
