MARGATE - Jewish Family Service of Atlantic and Cape May Counties announded it has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Dennis Schuman Charitable Foundation to benefit The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore. The funds will support this neighbor-helping-neighbor community-based program for adults age 50 and older.
“With nearly 200 Village members, including 15 Holocaust survivors in the region, this funding assists JFS to help older adults as their needs continue to evolve," JFS CEO Andrea Steinberg said.
For more than 11 years, the Village has offered essential programs and services including grocery shopping, transportation, intergenerational events, care coordination, Kosher meals delivery, friendly check-ins and more.
“I have enjoyed so many programs and services in my three years as a member," Lynne Walters said. "I encourage everyone to join the Village and take advantage of everything it has to offer."
Established as a legacy following his passing in 2013, the Dennis Schuman Charitable Foundation predominantly provides grants to Jewish organizations and charities for scientific, literacy, educational, charitable or religious purposes throughout the United States.
