SOMERS POINT - Maintenance Mechanic Herminio DeLaRosa has been named Shore Medical Center's July Employee of the Month for consistently delivering outstanding service and embodying the organization's mission, vision, and values. DeLaRosa has been working for Shore Medical Center since January 2023.
As a maintenance mechanic, DeLaRosa is often the first responder to help with maintenance issues, allowing him to assist colleagues in every department.
Bob Robertson, administrative director of Logistics, said that DeLaRosa is an exemplary employee.
"Herminio truly cares and takes pride in his work, following the mission of Shore Medical Center very well. He's an excellent teammate with a strong work ethic," Robertson said.
According to Maintenance Supervisor Jim Crawford and Director of Plant Operations Brad Foltz, DeLaRosa is an employee others can always rely on. He has earned the respect of his coworkers and appreciation from Shore colleagues throughout the hospital.
"No matter what the task is, he sees it through to completion. He learned the building and its equipment quickly and has used his organizational skills in the maintenance shop to facilitate efficiency," Foltz said.
DeLaRosa is currently working on his High-Pressure Boiler License, with the goal of moving up into an operating engineering position in the boiler room.
A resident of Mays Landing, DeLaRosa enjoys listening to Latin jazz and his favorite musician, Tito Puente, and spending time with his Chihuahua, Mama.
