LONGPORT – The borough’s volunteer Fire Department is conducting a recruitment campaign to add new members to its ranks.
Candidates must be over age 18, looking to give back to the community and willing to help out a neighbor.
Prospective members are asked to visit the Longport Firehouse, 2301 Atlantic Ave. on a Monday night to pick up an application.
Candidates will learn new skills, develop friendships and invest in the community. Training will be provided to become a firefighter and/or emergency medical technician.
The department also recently instituted a Junior Firefighter Auxiliary program for teenagers between the ages of 16-18 who live in Longport or Margate.
