The weather was perfect for Sunday's LeTour de Downbeach

Courtesy MBA What a gorgeous day for a bike ride! The weather was perfect for the 15th annual LeTour de Downbeach held Sunday, June 2 on the boardwalk and along Downbeach city streets. This year's bike ride paid tribute to one of the tour’s original organizers, Ann Marie Wiesen of Ventnor, who passed away last year. Hundreds of cyclists wearing bright yellow T-shirts gathered on Newport Avenue in Ventnor for the start of the 12-mile bike tour that traveled the boardwalk to Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall where it turned around and made its way back to Ventnor and Margate. The riders ended up in the parking lot of Tomatoe's Restaurant on Washington Avenue in Margate's Marina District where they enjoyed a barbeque. Margate Dairy Bar and Burger provided free water ice and the Margate Wawa distributed coupons good toward future purchases. [rl_gallery id="41984"]
