By NANETTE LoBIONDO GALLOWAY LONGPORT – The borough is making it easy for residents and visitors to make a reservation to play pickleball and tennis. Players no longer need to make reservations in person at the recreation center on 33rd Avenue. According to Borough Administrator A. Scott Porter, the Recreation Department has enlisted the use of an online app called CourtReserve to reserve time to play on the courts. “You can do it right online, see what’s available and what time you want to play, and then make the payment online. You show up and play,” he explained during the Board of Commissioners work session Wednesday, June 19. Tennis and pickleball players can download the app to their mobile phone and enter their credit card information to pay the court fee. The reservation and club management platform makes it easy to play and streamlines access and court management for the department. Porter said the app would be operational June 22 through Labor Day. Download the app and enter Longport Recreation to book a time. Copyright Access Global Network LLC 2024
