MARGATE - Cool ocean breezes and the sounds of sea gulls will form the backdrop for two special Shabbat services to be held on the beach this summer. Beth Israel Synagogue of Northfield will hold Friday night worship services on the Huntington Avenue beach 5:30 p.m. July 12 and Aug. 23.
Bring a beach chair and come in your flip-flops to dip your toes in the sand as you chant the familiar Shabbat melodies led by Rabbi Michael Feshbach. Families are welcome.
In the event of inclement weather, services will be held at Beth Israel, 2501 Shore Road, Northfield.
Beth Israel was the first area congregation to offer services on the beach, which has become an annual tradition for 30 years.
