Stockton to host Maple Project ‘Adopt a Tree Day’

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP – Stockton University’s Maple Project will host ‘Adopt a Tree’ Day, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15-16 at the university’s maple grove on the main campus across from Parking Lot 1. The free event runs 3-5 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The Stockton Maple Project has created about 60 gallons of maple syrup since it started collecting sap four years ago on campus. About 20 of those gallons have been sold at local farmers markets.

Learn about how maple syrup is made from sap to syrup, select a tree, name it, paint a protective rock to place beneath, and bring home a family photo. Complimentary cookies and apple cider provided. Children are welcome to play in the forest. The best part is you’ll take home your tree’s syrup at the end of the season.
