Coastal flooding closes Dorset Avenue bridge and Wellington Avenue

Due to the high tide Dorset Avenue bridge and Wellington Avenue are not passable at this time. The high tide and road closure is expected to last at least two hours.


The National Weather Service Mt. Holly has issued a coastal flood advisory in effect until noon Saturday, with inundation up to a foot in low-lying areas.


The Ventnor City Office of Emergency Management recommends motorists drive safely and avoid driving through flood waters that can damage your vehicle or render it inoperable.


Driving through flood waters creates wakes that can cause extensive damage to homes and commercial businesses.


Drive around barriers erected to protect your safety and obey all first responder instruction.


Turn around don’t drown.
