A Pleasantville man is in jail after he was found driving a vehicle stolen in a carjacking.
A Galloway Township woman's car was taken at the Pleasantville Shopping Center at about 6:48 p.m. Friday, police told BreakingAC. A 17-year-old girl and 9-month-old baby were inside at the time, but released in the AC Cemetery nearby moments after the incident.
No weapon was shown.
Sgt. Craig Dennis on Saturday morning, and tried to conduct a motor vehicle stop, police said. But the driver, later identified as Jesus Coto, refused to stop.
He fled to Atlantic City, where the pursuit ended, police said.
Coto, 30, is charged with eluding, receiving stolen property and resisting arrest by flight. More charges could be pending pending an investigation by Detectives Giovanny Garcia and Victor Guadalupe.
Coto was being processed at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
His passenger was also charged.
Lisa Tanner, 40, of Pleasantville, is charged with receiving stolen property and was released on a summons.
