  • Government

Election officials from the Atlantic County Superintendent of Elections Office are taking their education campaign on the road.

Election officials will be visiting the John D. Young Memorial Lions Blind Center in Absecon Tuesday, Oct. 8 to provide important election information, voting demonstrations, voter registrations, and more for residents who are visually impaired as well as the general public.

The event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend. The Lions Blind Center is located at 100 Crestview Ave. in Absecon.

“We appreciate this opportunity to guide and educate voters, particularly those who are visually challenged, so they can feel at ease casting their vote," Atlantic County Superintendent of Elections Maureen Bugdon said. "Whether participating in Early Voting (Oct. 26-Nov. 3) or voting on Election Day (Nov. 5), Atlantic County’s voting machines will be utilized. This new technology is accessible, equipped with contrast text and audio features, and offers more functions than ever to our ADA and visually impaired voters. No matter which way you choose to vote, we encourage all Atlantic County registrants to exercise their franchise.”

The Lions Center event is also an opportunity for citizens to register to vote or to update their voter registration information before the deadline on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

The Office of the Superintendent of Elections encourages the public to visit www.Vote.NJ.gov to double-check their registration information, update anything that has changed or to register to vote for the first time in Atlantic County.
