The Longport Police Department will be celebrating National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. The program will be held between Borough Hall and the Longport Historical Society, 2300-block of Atlantic Ave.
The department is urging residents to safely dispose of any unwanted or expired medications with officers, who will be located under the Longport Police Department pop-up tent.
Residents can dispose of your medications responsibly and help prevent the potential misuse of medications that could cause harm.
"The Longport Police Department would like to thank everyone who participates in this event and takes a stand against prescription drug abuse. Together, we can create a safer and healthier Longport," police said in a release.
