Let's be careful not to make too much out of this. McCain is doing his social media thing and the older vet is giving him a hard time about it. They're both playing their roles. Similar scenes unfold in homes, offices, and gyms around the world thousands of times daily.
Those who think this will be some sort of problem for the team are off-base:
