Yards Brewing Company 30th Anniversary Throwback Party, Friday, November 1st

Yards Brewing Company is celebrating 30 years of brewing in the City of Brotherly Love by turning back the clock to 1994, the year it all began. On Friday, November 1st, the Yards Taproom on Spring Garden Street will host an evening of 90s nostalgia, great beer and a gathering of fellow beer lovers and key figures from Yards' history. The free event, which is open to the public, will run from 6 pm to 11 pm.

In celebration of this milestone anniversary, Yards will offer 1994 pricing on some of their iconic brews, including Philadelphia Pale Ale, Brawler and ESA. Guests can enjoy these classics for just $3.75 per 20oz pour throughout the night.

“Our beers have always been crafted by the people of this city, for the people of this city. There’s no place we’d rather call home,” said Tom Kehoe, founder of Yards Brewing Company.

      

First Fridays at Cherry Street Pier, Friday, November 1st*

Each First Friday, Cherry Street Pier's artists and studios open their doors and exhibit new works. The Sistah Soul Series, a free, live music event featuring local independent vocal artists from diverse musical genres, provides music. 

During Happy Hour on the Waterfront, you can enjoy discounted food and drink from 4 to 6 p.m..


Day of the Dead Celebration: Gran Fiesta de los Muertos, Friday, November 1st

Celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with Fairmount Park Conservancy and artist Cesar Viveros at the FDR Park Boathouse on Friday, November 1 from 6 to 9 pm.

Experience and learn about Mexico’s popular Día de los Muertos holiday through dance and musical performances, food samples, an art installation* and more. Plus, vendors from FDR Park’s Mercado de Latinas will be there selling homemade food and crafts. Music provided by DJ Valentin Flores.

*Cesar will be constructing a large art installation on the steps of the boathouse in honor of the holiday that will remain until November 4th.

      

Fall Makers Market at Elfreth's Alley, Saturday, November 2nd 

The Elfreth’s Alley Association invites the public to a Makers Market on Saturday Nov 2nd, from 11am-4pm. During this one-day event, local Philadelphia crafters, artisans, and regional makers will set up shop on Elfreth’s Alley, Philadelphia’s most historic residential street.

Centuries of artisans, craftspeople and working-class people lived on this street. This event celebrates that history by inviting present-day artisans and craftspeople to continue their business on the Alley. Featured vending includes artwork, plants, candles, jewelry, home goods and vintage items. 


Peddler’s Village Apple Festival, Saturday & Sunday, November 2nd & 3rd

Peddler’s Village offers a weekend of family fun at the 49th Annual Apple Festival from 11 am to 6 pm. Peddler’s Village Apple Festival is one of the most popular annual events in the greater Philadelphia region. This outdoor event is held rain or shine. Admission and parking are free. All attractions and food are pay as you go (some are cash only). Peddler’s Village shops are open until 8 pm on Saturday.

If you would like to reserve parking, a VIP package is strongly recommended.

PECO Free First Sunday Family Day: All About Love, Sunday, November 3rd

It’s the first Sunday of the month, which means free admission at the Barnes. Enjoy fun art activities, performances and free access to the collection and Mickalene Thomas: All About Love.

This month, the Barnes is highlighting the work of artist Mickalene Thomas, whose vivid, spectacularly-staged artworks offer an empowered vision of Black femininity and beauty. Inspired by the new exhibition, the Philadelphia Jazz Tap Ensemble will present two exhilarating dance performances honoring great women in jazz.

Registration opens Thursday, October 31, at 10am.
