Sanchez Shines in Team's 90th Win: Phillies Twitter Roundup

  • Phillies

The Phillies reached 90 wins for the 17th time in 142 seasons on Sunday, as Cristopher Sanchez pitched a gem against the Mets and the bats came through late. Buddy Kennedy tied the game with an RBI double in the eighth. J.T. Realmuto singled off of Edwin Diaz in the ninth to end it.

Sanchez is the biggest story of the day. His development into a top-of-the-rotation starting pitcher has been remarkable.

Sanchez's ERA at Citizens Bank Park is now a sparkling 2.05. Would the Phillies consider starting him in game two of an NLDS? We shall see, but it's a great dilemma for the team to have.

The Phillies didn't give their lefty starter much run support, but Buddy Kennedy came through clutch in the eighth:

Some unlikely heroes for the Fightins this weekend.

Mets fans are handling it well.

Kennedy's hit tied the game, but it was a J.T. Realmuto single that ended it:

After sweeping the Rays and taking two of three from the Mets, the red hot Phillies now travel to Milwaukee for a three game set. With another strong series, the Phils could effectively lock up a top-two seed in the National League and a first-round postseason bye.

It's feeling Red Octobery in Philadelphia.

Anyway, here's this:
