Shore Medical Center has 'A Cause to Celebrate'

  • Community

Shore Medical Center’s largest annual fundraiser, A Cause to Celebrate, presented by Penn Medicine, returns to the Golden Nugget Atlantic City 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. This year's event, themed as a masquerade, will celebrate Shore Medical Center's contributions to the community while raising funds for new equipment, technology and patient care initiatives.

A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Art Ford, III, Esq., Award to Dr. Leonard Galler, a community leader who exemplifies the caring spirit of Shore.

Galler, who has served as a general and vascular surgeon in the region for 42 years, currently holds the position of Clinical and Administrative Surgical Department Chairman at Shore. His instrumental leadership and unwavering commitment have significantly enhanced the excellence of surgical care and overall standards at Shore Medical Center.

"We are incredibly proud to honor Dr. Galler for his outstanding contributions and lifelong dedication to our community," Shore Medical Center President David Hughes said. "His leadership and commitment to excellence have not only benefited surgical care but have also ensured the highest standards of care hospital-wide. Dr. Galler truly embodies the spirit of Shore Medical Center, and we are delighted to celebrate his many contributions."

A Cause to Celebrate has become one of the region's most anticipated social events, drawing hundreds of the area's top movers and shakers. Guests will enjoy live music by The Heartbeats band, dancing, gourmet food, top-shelf spirits, a silent auction featuring high-end experiences and gifts and a 50/50 raffle. Since its inception in 2015, the event has raised over $4.5 million for Shore Medical Center.

Tickets are priced at $250 each. To RSVP, sponsor the event, place an ad or a tribute to Dr. Galler in the program, or donate a silent auction item, please visit www.shoremedicalcenter.org/a-cause-to-celebrate or contact Jessica Giles at 609-653-3986 or [email protected].
