MARGATE – “Manhattan Short,” a unique worldwide event being screened in more than 500 venues across six continents, starts Sept. 26. Registration is available through the Margate Public Library.
The final 10 short films will screen simultaneously across the world during a one-week period. The Best Film and Best Actor awards will be determined by ballots cast by the audiences in each participating venue. By virtue of their selection by Manhattan Short, each short film is automatically Oscar Award qualified.

All events are the same and show all 10 short films. The complete event runtime is 2 hours and 36 minutes, with a 10-minute intermission.
Finalists hail from nine countries including two films from the USA.
Finalists are: “The Talent” (UK), “I’m Not a Robot” Netherlands, “Mother” (Ukraine), “Covecote” (Italy), “Pathological” (USA), “Alarms” (France), “Favourites” (Australia), “The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent” (Croatia), “Room Taken” (Ireland), “Jane Austen’s Period Drama” (USA).
