  • Community

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP - Residents at Seashore Gardens Living Center enjoyed a hands-on horticultural therapy session in September, creating moss balls and growing new plants from spider plant cuttings. The activity fostered relaxation and social connection as part of the Golden Sunflowers program.

SGLC/Residents of Seashore Gardens Living Center enjoyed making moss balls in a recent Golden Sunflowers therapeutic gardening program.

The benefits of therapeutic horticulture are numerous and include social interaction, improving motor skills, elevating mood, reducing agitation, and improving self-esteem. The Golden Sunflowers program is funded by Seashore Gardens Foundation.

SGLC/Residents took clippings from a spider plant to grow their own plants, which they could keep and care for in their rooms.
