Fees to increase for Ventnor Pier

  • Community

VENTNOR – The Board of Commissioners will hold public hearings Thursday, April 10 on a series of ordinances raising the fees charged for various licenses, including access to the Ventnor Fishing Pier.

The Fishing Pier Fee ordinance sets for seasonal and daily charges for the pier, including admission for spectators only.

Yearly membership for fishing on the pier will increase $25 to $200 for adults and $50 for children ages 10-18. There will be no increase in the $150 fee currently charged for senior citizens. Seasonal military fee is $150. Spectators will pay $75 for the right to go out on the pier to enjoy the views and sea breezes.

Daily pier admission fees will increase $5 to $15 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and $10 for children ages 10-18. The daily fee for military fishers is $5. The daily spectator only fee will be $10. Weekly memberships will not be offered.

The increases are part of a series of ordinances raising fees, such as for dumpsters and portable storage units, seasonal certificates of occupancy, mercantile licenses, and certificates of land use compliance.

The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at Ventnor City Hall, 6201 Atlantic Ave.
