Hard Rock, Reed's Farm plant seeds for the future of Atlantic City youths

  • Good Citizens

ATLANTIC CITY - On Monday, April 14, team members from Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City joined the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City to help tend its seasonal gardens, an effort that’s growing more than just produce.

The BGCAC welcomed Cookie Till, co-founder of A Meaningful Purpose at Reed’s Farm in Egg Harbor Township, and George Goldhoff, president of Hard Rock Atlantic City. Their visit marked a continued investment in hands-on learning experiences for Atlantic City youths, focused on agriculture, nutrition and culinary skills.

Hard Rock presented a $10,000 donation to Reed’s Farm to sustain the agricultural program and farm-to-table initiatives, giving club members the opportunity to explore how food is grown, harvested and prepared.

The fruits and vegetables of their labor are used in the BGCAC Teen Center kitchen, where students in the club’s hospitality track prepare meals that help feed youth at three BGCAC locations.

The program also includes visits to Reed’s Farm in Egg Harbor Township, where children learn to cultivate vegetables and sharpen their culinary talents with fresh, locally grown ingredients
