PLEASANTVILLE - Looking for a new pet? Consider adopting a dog or cat from the Atlantic County Animal Shelter, Aug. 8-10, when all adoption fees will be waived during the annual “Clear the Shelters” promotion.
The Atlantic County Animal Shelter offers dogs and cats of various ages, sizes and breeds. And on occasion pure bred dogs and cats become available for adoption.
“We’re proud to participate in this nationwide pet adoption drive each August,” Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson said. “We’ve been doing so for the past 11 years with genuine success. Stop by to find your new pet and help us Clear the Shelter.”
Regular adoption fees at the shelter range from $85 for cats and kittens to $110 for dogs and puppies and include mandatory sterilization, age appropriate vaccinations, diagnostic testing, a microchip and free veterinary consultation. Canines adopted from the shelter are also provided free obedience classes.
The shelter is located at 240 Old Turnpike Road in Pleasantville and is open to the public 1-4 p.m. each day. Appointments are not necessary.
