2025 Atlantic County 4-H Fair theme features kindness toward others

  • Community

MAYS LANDING – This year’s 4-H Fair carries a theme “4-H’ers are Kind to Others.” The annual fair showcases the personal and life-skills development of young people in grades K-13 through the four tenants of 4-H – Head, Heart, Hands and Health.

The youth development program provided through the Atlantic County Rutgers Cooperative Extension gives young people the opportunity to learn about the environment, biological sciences, and do good things for others. Youths who work all year long learning their chosen field of expertise showcase what they learned during the fair, which attracts thousands of visitors during the two-day event.

The 4-H Fair will “Share the Fun” starting noon Friday, Aug. 8 and concludes 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9.

Family activities include a Baby Parade, Teddy Bear Tea, pie and watermelon eating contests, and a pet parade. Musical performances will be held starting 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Featured performances include Alexis Mathis; Devin Lyn and the Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot band; and Hamilton Township Summer Band. The 4-H Talent Variety Show closes out the entertainment Saturday evening at 9:15 p.m.

Festivities include a car show, Atlantic County Firefighters Association apparatus, Tae Kwon Do demonstration, Seeing Eye Dog demonstration, antique tractors, equestrian maneuvers, and more. Livestock, Equine and Ambassador awards will be presented starting at 8:15 p.m. Saturday night on the main stage.

Animal attractions and produce will be displayed both days, giving families the opportunity to see livestock demonstrations, handmade crafts and canned fruits and vegetables.

Amusement rides will be available both days and wristbands will be honored 2-6 p.m. Friday and noon-4 p.m. Saturday. Amusement ride wristbands cost $25 per day.

Admission to the fair is free and parking is available for $5 next to the David C. Wood 4-H Center and Fairgrounds, 3210 Rt. 50 in South Egg Harbor/Mays Landing.
