A Ventnor man who allegedly fled the scene of a hit-and-run that killed an Atlantic City woman was indicted this week.
Gino Garofalo, 32, was traveling west on the Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township's West Atlantic City section at about 8 p.m. Feb. 18, when he struck the woman, according to the charges.
Alisha Cottman, 40, was crossing the pike near the Economy Inn, when she was hit. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Garofalo, who was driving a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, did not stop.
Police later thanked Philadelphia police for assisting in locating the vehicle.
He was indicted on a second-degree charge of leaving the scene of a fatal crash.
Garofalo originally was charged on a summons, and was not jailed.
He also was given several motor vehicle citations, including failure to report, obstruction of windshield an unclear plates.
