Hurricane Erin forces Margate Police to postpone Law Day event

  • Community

MARGATE - The city's Police Department is a little disappointed today that Hurricane Erin churning off the East Coast has forced the postponment of its annual Law Day event.

Law Day, a free event, was scheduled to be held under the big tent at the Margate City Public Library Wednesday evening.

Under an abunance of caution, the department has postponed the event but it has been rescheduled.

Law Day will be held 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 27 in the same location.

Children and families can look forward to learning how the Police Department assists families and keeps people safe 24-7. The event is designed to build a safer community through prevention and community partnerships.

Activities include music, food, water ice, face painting, crafts and prizes. Children will also have the opportunity to check out various police vehicles.
