HAMMONTON - The South Jersey Transportation Authority has announced High Visibility Patrols will be conducted on the Atlantic City Expressway Thursday and Friday, Jan. 1- 2 to promote safe driving and reduce dangerous behaviors during the peak holiday travel period.
During these dates, motorists will notice an increased presence of New Jersey State Police along the AC Expressway. The patrols are designed to deter aggressive and impaired driving, enforce speed limits, and encourage compliance with traffic laws to ensure the safety of all roadway users.
“Holiday travel brings increased traffic volumes, and with that comes a greater responsibility to keep our patrons safe,” SJTA Executive Director Stephen F. Dougherty said. “The High Visibility Patrols serve as both a deterrent and a reminder that safe driving saves lives.”
Drivers are urged to:
• Obey posted speed limits
• Avoid distracted driving
• Never drive impaired
• Buckle up and ensure all passengers are properly restrained
The SJTA encourages motorists to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and remain patient and attentive while traveling during the holiday season.
