LONGPORT – Area senior citizens enjoyed a special Valentine’s Day Luncheon Thursday, Feb. 13, complete with catered lunch, lots a sweet treats and roses for the ladies.
The luncheon, hosted by Angel and Jerome DiPentino of Long & Foster’s Premier Real Estate Team, is a 19-year tradition in Longport to not only celebrate romantic love, but also love of family and friends.
The event was held at Totaro Hall at Epiphany Church of Holy Trinity Parish. Mayor Patrick Armstrong welcomed everyone to the event and introduced Associate Vicar Fr. Anthony, who gave the invocation and blessed the food served by Long & Foster volunteers. Fred Hall provided musical accompaniment.
Angel DiPentino said the food was catered by Barrel’s in Margate, Shop Rite and Aversa Bakery.
Couples and singles attended wearing the colors of the day – with lots of red and pink scattered around the room. The tables were beautifully decorated with red tablecloths and heart-shaped balloons.
Although the weather was a little rainy, those in attendance said they were looking forward to springtime and the lazy days of summer.
