MARGATE - As the need for counseling sessions continues to remain elevated, the Jewish Federation of Atlantic & Cape May Counties and Jewish Community Foundation awarded a $60,000 program grant to Jewish Family Service of Atlantic & Cape May Counties.
“With JFS being a sought-after provider of Outpatient Counseling and Mental Health services, we are thankful for the continued support of the Jewish Federation of Atlantic & Cape May Counties and Jewish Community Foundation,” said Naomi, Jones, Ph.D., senior director of Outpatient Services. “Their financial commitment will ensure we can continue to help people throughout the region seeking counseling at our agency.”
JFS offers several options for outpatient counseling, including individual, family, group and couple sessions at the agency’s Atlantic City, Cape May Court House and Margate offices.
Last year, JFS licensed professionals served more than 400 members of the community, including children, teenagers and adults through the Outpatient Counseling program. The compassionate therapy sessions helped clients address grief, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and trauma.
“Supporting JFS’s Outpatient Counseling program is a direct expression of our core Jewish values - chesed (kindness), tikkun olam (repairing the world), and arevut (communal responsibility). At Jewish Federation, we believe in strengthening our community by ensuring that no one faces life’s challenges alone,” Jewish Federation Executive Director Rachel Waldman said. “Investing in mental health services is not just an act of support; it’s a commitment to the well-being and dignity of every individual in our Jewish community and beyond.”
The funding has been made possible in part by the Jewish Community Foundation of Atlantic & Cape May Counties and the annual campaign of Jewish Federation of Atlantic & Cape May Counties.
