EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP - Atlantic County government will host a public meeting in cooperation with the state Office of Planning Advocacy for comments and feedback on the draft Preliminary State Development and Redevelopment Plan. The meeting will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 13 at the Anthony “Tony” Canale Training Center, 5033 English Creek Ave.
NJ Office of Planning Advocacy Acting Executive Director Walter Lane will present an overview of the NJ State Development and Redevelopment Plan, which is in the process of being updated. A preliminary state plan was approved by the State Planning Commission on Dec. 4, 2024 and released two days later.
To access the Preliminary State Plan, see https://nj.gov/state/bac/planning/documents/update-to-state-plan/Draft%20Preliminary%20SDRP%20(SPC%20Approved%2012.4.2024).pdf
The release of the Preliminary State Plan also initiates the cross-acceptance process during which there is a review and comparison of planning policies at multiple government levels to ensure a high level of consistency among municipal, county, regional and state plans. The cross-acceptance process provides opportunities for stakeholders to partner and ensure municipal, county and regional master plans are considered in the creation of a viable state plan.
Public comments will be accepted during and after the meeting. Written comments can be sent electronically to: stateplan.comments@sos.nj.gov. Include your name, address and affiliation, if applicable, with your comments.
